1.3 Estimating and rounding

We are going to …

• estimate quantities by giving a range of numbers as an estimate

• round numbers to the nearest 10

• round numbers to the nearest 100.

You don’t always need to know how many there are.

Often, an estimate is enough. You can estimate by estimate
giving a range of numbers or by rounding a number range
