•The book is a memoir written by Yang Jiang, the wife of Qian Zhongshu and also a great writer, translator and playwright. 

• The book describes the 63-year family life spent with her husband and daughter. The language is quite simple but touching. Copies of some of her precious pictures, with words she wrote describing them, are included to give readers a view of Yang, her husband and daughter being together. 

• The German translation was completed by Monika Motsch. She was a great German scholar studying Chinese literature and culture. And she was also close to Qian' s family.
