Dr. Niels Peter Thomas, President Greater China & Managing Director Books of Springer Nature Group, pointed out in his speech that the original intention of launching “Chinese Academic Library” with FLTRP ten years ago was to introduce Chinese culture and Chinese academic thought to the world and promote understanding and dialogue between China and foreign countries. Today, the world is facing unprecedented challenges such as hunger, poverty, pandemics, climate change, etc., which cannot be solved by a single field of study, and in many cases, the humanities and social sciences are involved. China has a long history of civilization for thousands of years and has accumulated a rich ideological and cultural heritage. Springer Nature is proud to work with the FLTRP to interpret the essence of this heritage to the world, help the world better understand China, and draw wisdom from classic works while addressing these challenges. It is believed that in the next decade, Springer Nature and FLTRP will jointly play a greater role in the international dissemination of Chinese books.
