FLTRP Delegation Visited Türkiye, Drawing a New Chapter in Sino-Turkish Publishing and Cultural Exchange

From October 18 to 20, 2024, Wang Fang, Secretary of the CPC Committee of FLTRP Group, Chair of the Board of FLTRP Group, President of FLTRP, led a delegation to visit Türkiye. The delegation visited the ConsulateGeneral of the People’s Republic of China in Istanbul and engaged with cultural and educational institutions, including Canut International Press and the Confucius Institute at Yeditepe University. The delegation had extensive discussions with these institutions in terms of publishing, Sino-Turkish education cooperation, and talent cultivation, making significant progress in work.

On October 18, FLTRP delegation visited the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Istanbul and received a warm reception from Consul General Wei Xiaodong. President Wang Fang introduced to Mr. Wei Xiaodong the achievements of FLTRP in international cooperation and digital transformation in recent years as well as FLTRP’s business in Türkiye. She mentioned that FLTRP has actively collaborated with several Turkish publishers and published over 20 books locally, opening a window for Turkish readers to understand Chinese culture. She hoped that, with the support and guidance of the Consulate General,FLTRP could establish closer relationships with various sectors in Türkiye and explore new opportunities for cooperation in the future.


Mr. Wei Xiaodong stated that the Sino-Turkish relationship is currently in steady development. With the rise of tourism between China and Türkiye, the increasing number of Chinese enterprises, and the popularization of Chinese language education, international Chinese education shows great potential. He highly praised FLTRP’s contributions to promoting cultural exchanges between China and Türkiye. He also encouraged FLTRP to continue playing a bridging role, facilitating the implementation of more high-quality cultural and educational projects.


Meeting with Canut International Press


On October 19, FLTRP delegation visited Canut International Press for a meeting with its Founder Mr. Cem Kizilcec, and Editor-in-Chief Mr. Deniz Kizilcec. President Wang Fang expressed that Canut International Press enjoys a prestigious reputation in Chinese publishing industry and has published a large number of books in terms of Chinese culture, fostering mutual understanding between the peoples of China and Türkiye through literature. It is hoped that FLTRP and Canut International Press would enhance cooperation in publishing, digital licensing, and marketing promotion, advancing Sino-Turkish cultural exchanges in a more thorough fashion. Cem Kizilcec, expressed sincere admiration for FLTRP’s rapid development. He said that FLTRP is a leader in China’s foreign language education publishing and he looks forward to deepening cooperation with FLTRP to jointly promote the world’s understanding of China. Deniz Kizilcec remarked that FLTRP has a solid foundation in the publication of foreign language and international Chinese textbooks, language training, and the development of digital teaching resources. Canut International Press will embark on multi-language, multi-media, and diversified collaboration with FLTRP. During the meeting, both sides reached a cooperative intention regarding several books on Chinese culture, literature, and the humanities and social sciences.


FLTRP delegation visited the Confucius Institute at Yeditepe University.


The FLTRP delegation also visited the Confucius Institute at Yeditepe University, where they held discussions with Mr. Liu Songyan, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute, and Ms. Li Weili, Foreign Deputy Director of the Confucius Institute. Mr. Liu Songyan introduced the history of the Confucius Institute, its Chinese language teaching and cultural activities, and future development plans. President Wang Fang presented FLTRP’s multilingual and comprehensive educational layout, its digitalization and internationalization development strategies. She also showcased FLTRP’s achievements in publishing and building digital resources in international Chinese education and shared information on FLTRP’s copyright trade in Türkiye. Both sides engaged in in-depth exchanges on the current status and development trends of Chinese language education in Türkiye, the localization of Chinese teaching materials, and the utilization of digital platforms in universities.


Ms. Wu Xiaojing, Director of the Digital Resources Department, Chinese Language and Culture Publishing, FLTRP and Ms. Yang Fan, Rights Manager of the Division for International Cooperation, participated in the related activities.
