Activity 1

A habitat for snails

You will need:

snails, soil, leaves, twigs, small rocks, water, plastic fish

tank and lid

You must wash hands with soap and water after touching

soil, leaves, twigs or snails.

Snails like to hide in cool damp places.

They eat leaves and soft wood.

Make a habitat for snails in the fish tank.

Draw your ideas and then make the habitat.

Put the snails in the habitat and observe how they move and

eat leaves. Don’t forget the lid or they may escape and die.

Activity 2

Let’s make an insect hotel

You will need:

dry plant stems and sticks, string, scissors

You must wash hands with soap and water after

touching soil, leaves, or twigs.
