About the Author
Li Yining is Professor of economics and Honorary Dean of Guanghua School of Management at Peking University. He is a leading economist in China, and the author of some twenty books and numerous articles on reform and development in this country and on a wide range of economic topics. He has received many prestigious awards and honors for economic research accomplishments. A preeminent proponent of market economy, Professor Li has had an enormous influence on China's economic reform policy over the last three decades. He served on the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China and is currently Vice-Chairman of the Economic Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
